Udaipur: Dense fog on Tuesday morning disrupted the normal life in Lakecity. Because of the heavy fog with nearly zero visibility the drivers had a tough time negotiating on the roads. On Tuesday morning 18 people were injured when a private bus overturned and fell in the dry river bed of Jhamri river in Udaipur’s Kurabad police station area. Because of extremely low visibility the driver lost control and the vehicle plunged into the 20 feet deep wayside ditch after toppling thrice. The people trapped in the bus were pulled out by the villagers and taken to Jagat Hospital with the help of an ambulance. The injured include driver and conductor.
An incident of a boat losing its way in Jaisamand lake because of thick fog was also reported on Tuesday. A boat with school children from Baba magra was stuck in the middle of the lake when the boatman lost the way and could not find the shore. After struggling for more than two hours, the boat with school children reached safely to the shore.
In yet another incident a private bus collided with a trailer in Chikarda village near Nimbahera. Though no casualties were reported the trailer after being hit by the bus overturned and fell in the ditch.
Lake City remained shrouded in fog since morning on Tuesday. Mist and dense fog engulfed the entire district. Traffic snarled at many places in the city and on the highway due to the fog. Visibility was very low and the air traffic remained affected on the second day also.
