The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) was approved by the MHRD on Thursday released the ranking of various educational institutes in the country. Udaipur’s IIM which ranked 13 among the top B- Schools of India for the past two years slipped down to 17th position in the latest ranking. The hopes of IIM-U for being in the top 10 position shattered when the scoring dropped down to 59.57 from 60.79 of the previous year. In the year 2016 with a score of 84.22 IIM-U was ranked 5th among the TOP tn B-Schools.
Udaipur’s Mohanlal Sukhadia University has been able to bag a position among top 200 universities for the first time in the NIRF ranking. It is the first in Rajasthan too. The Pharmacy department of MLSU is holding a ranking between 76-100 in Pharmacy ranking.
This framework outlines a methodology to rank institutions across the country. The methodology draws from the overall recommendations broad understanding arrived at by a Core Committee set up by MHRD, to identify the broad parameters for ranking various universities and institutions. The parameters broadly cover “Teaching, Learning and Resources,” “Research and Professional Practices,” “Graduation Outcomes,” “Outreach and Inclusivity,” and “Perception”
