Udaipur : Two out of the five Covid positive Prisoners who fled from the Covid care center at Chittorgarh have been arrested by the Chittorgarh police. The prisoners had escaped on Monday morning while they were quarantined at the district civil hospital. Incidentally 6 guards were on duty and none of them could sense their movement.
There were six prisoners in the ward. The information about the escaped prisoner was provided to the guard by the prisoner who was left in the ward. On investigation it was found that all five had fled from the terrace and jumped on the terrace of the adjacent mortuary to escape.
According to Chittorgarh SP Bhargava, the Sadar police carried out a search operation at various check posts and were able to nab Sanjay and Pappu. During the search operation Pappu was arrested by the Chanderiya police and Sanjay was caught by Begu police while trying to flee from his residence on a motor bike.
Other three prisoners are still at large. While in hospital under observation, these five prisoners escaped from the terrace route of the hospital at 4.30 in the morning. The other three absconding prisoners are PIntu, Mukesh and Kuldeep. Security has been beefed up at the covid care unit and a case has been registered at the Sadar police station.
